Interviewed Dr. Laura Drohan a Neonatologist who practices at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

Neonatology a subspecialty of pediatrics that consists of the medical care of newborn infants, especially the ill or premature newborns.

Sometimes multiples are under the care of a Neonatologist due to early delivery dates and small weights at birth.

In episode 9 we discuss many reason’s why a newborn would be in the NICU, as well as how many different levels of NICU’s are there, risks to multiples and likely hood of being in the NICU, feeding preemie’s and and many more NICU questions and answers for you.

With Gillian’s triplet boys being born at 28 weeks meant two of the boys where kept in the NICU for 2 months and our smallest for 3 months. Judee’s experience of her triplets being born at 34 weeks meant for a short stay in the NICU.

Both triplet births were a learning experiences, a joy and stressful at times, but all and all a wonderful experience in the NICU. Both multiple moms relate their experiences with their multiples in this in depth interview.
